All units and the District should have at least 75% of their membership by January 15th. If you are holding onto any membership get them to department ASAP.

   Suze Orman looking for Veteran to help with Financial Advice
Below is a unique opportunity for our veterans. The Veteran Entertainment Group is producing a new television show with financial guru Suze Orman that will be airing on the Oprah Winfrey Network. The tape dates are Sept 10th, 11th, and 12th.
One of the ideas they would like to pursue is to help a service member from the war get back on their feet financially. The ideal candidate will be a family man or woman who served in Iraq or Afghanistan and is a real above and beyond kind of person with a track record to prove it. Even though they are a hero to their family and our country, they are still struggling to pay the bills at home and can use some help. Ideally, they would prefer to find someone in California, but if the "RIGHT" candidate lives in another state then they would consider bringing this veteran in for the taping. American Legion Auxiliary District 28 is based in the Monterey Bay Area in California. There are nine units that make up District 28: Unit 31 Salinas, Unit 81 Gonzales, Unit 121 Watsonville, Unit 512 Carmel, Unit 589 Salinas, Unit 591, Seaside, Unit 593 Prunedale, Unit 635 Greenfield, and Unit 694 Marina. It is made up of over 1200 members.
